Announcing the new Club Mac of Monterey Blog

Hi everyone,

I have just set up this new blog on Google for Club Mac.  The service is free and will hopefully facilitate discussion among our members.

Ken: Thanks for testing out the blog. I copied you on a message I sent to Jerry. Let me know if you think my plan makes sense

It does look promising.
I'd say you need some good written instructions to give members though.

I will work on a one-page flyer showing the blog home page with annotations describing the various features and links and providing directions on how to navigate the blog and how to make new posts and add comments to existing posts.

I like the fact that we are able to upload pictures, video, etc.

Thanks, Ron!

Your main URL will be linked to the little bit of blue water in the CMoM logo at the bottom of the left frame. Please let me know if it doesn't work for you.

How does a photo get in? (I tried drag-n-drop but only the location appeared.)

OK!
How do I create a new post?

Jerry -- I am replying to your most recent post. Reply to this one, please. Then I'll reply to yours. Then you would reply again to mine.

I would like to see if our back-and-forth chat is found linked only to each other. Or are our comments not grouped, just appear one after the other in a long list of all previous posts??

Is our own series of posts to each other called a "thread"?

Looking forward to seeing how this all works!

Thanks again, Ron, for your discovery!

I'd like to be able to post some of the tips, hints, and other info which I receive from MacWorld, the Apple Ambassador network to a place others could easily access.
I will post an example as a comment to this post.

This week's Macworld OS X Hint

Add more solid desktop color options

When it comes to customizing your desktop, OS X seemingly provides anything you could want -- there are a number of Apple-provided images, there are connections to your user's Pictures folder and iPhoto library, or you can use any of 10 provided solid colors for your desktop background. But if you're a fan of solid colors, you may not agree with the 10 that Apple has provided. Thankfully, there are two relatively easy ways to get additional color choices.

All,

It appears that post/comments end up in a line one after the other.

I'm not sure whether this is a bad thing or not except that it does mean looking through a list to find things.

Jerry -- Looks like you're guess is correct, that all our comments to anyone/everyone will appear one after the other in a long string of consecutive postings...

I do like your idea of posting some of the latest tips and other info you discover for us, especially if the news is about essential issues, especially security.
